Deep cleaning (gum treatment)

Periodontal Disease is a form of gum disease that, if left untreated, causes the loosening and eventual loss of teeth. Periodontal Disease is the result of a gum infection in which bacteria become trapped underneath your gums. These bacteria damage and destroy the bone which holds in your teeth.

Deep cleaning is the first-line of defense to treat Periodontal Disease. During your deep cleaning appointment, doctor can provide topical or local anesthesia to make you comfortable throughout the procedure. Doctor will then remove the calcified bacteria deposits which are growing beneath your gums. Once these calcified deposits are removed, your gums can begin to heal.
